In this episode of the Growth of Greatness podcast, Chris explains how to make the process yours and also the different ways to reach your smaller goals. Most importantly, love what you love and pursue it unapologetically.
The end goal is good but it can be distracting. You can’t focus on graduation during orientation! Keep your feet on the ground. Part of loving the process is loving the little parts. Yes, the early morning classes are annoying but that might be what it takes to get where you want to go.
The best way to make the process easier is to set small goals. These little accomplishments have to add up to help you reach your big ultimate goal. For example, if your goal is to make it to the NBA, you have to set the smaller goals that will lead you in that direction. The first could be playing varsity basketball in high school, then getting a scholarship to a good school and so on. Small goals are there the little rewards that remind you to love the process.
Lastly, if you love the process it makes the ending that much sweeter. There is nothing better than getting exactly what you worked for and wanted for so long. The feeling is unmatched. But you can’t get there if you don’t love it.
